Acts 2 Living for a Modern World

Forming Communities of Jesus across the Nation.

Donation - Giving

The Way Church exists to glorify Jesus Christ by teaching God’s Word with clarity, forming disciples of men and women, and living out the Acts 2 model of fellowship, prayer, generosity, and mission in communities across our nation.

We are a Kingdom-lived, Spirit-led, and Christ-organized movement of disciples — a collective body of sons and daughters who follow Jesus together, building communities that reflect His Way in every neighborhood, city, and region.

What People Can Expect from Us

Clarity in Teaching

We believe Scripture is God’s authoritative Word, breathed out for teaching, rebuke, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16).

At The Way, the Bible is not cherry-picked or watered down; it is taught in context and applied to everyday life. Our goal is not to impress with knowledge but to equip disciples to obey everything Jesus commanded (Matt. 28:20). We approach the Word exegetically (Examine Critically), understanding its original meaning, and then applying it practically so that lives are transformed, not just informed.

Intentional Discipleship

Jesus did not call crowds to attend an event; He called disciples to follow Him. Our model is the Great Commission, making disciples who make disciples (Matt. 28:19).

We do this intentionally, not passively. Discipleship at The Way means walking with one another through the rhythms of life, setting clear goals for spiritual maturity, and measuring growth not in attendance but in obedience, faith, and fruit.

Spiritual Formation

The Way is committed to cultivating the inner life of believers. This means developing habits of prayer, rhythms of worship, lives marked by holiness, and maturity that withstands trial (Col. 1:28–29).

Spiritual formation is not about rituals or appearances but about Christ being formed in us (Gal. 4:19). We pursue maturity through prayer gatherings, worship that glorifies God, teaching on holy living, and accountability that pushes each other closer to Christ.

Community Impact

The church exists not for itself but as a witness to the world. Like the believers in Acts 2 who gave generously and met the needs around them, The Way seeks to tangibly impact neighborhoods and cities with the Gospel.

We do this through acts of service, compassion for the poor and marginalized, and outreach that proclaims Christ both in word and deed (James 1:27; Matt. 25:35–36). Our goal is that the presence of The Way in any community results in visible blessing and transformation.

Gospel Culture

The Way Church is not merely a collection of doctrines but a living culture shaped by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Grace is extended freely because we have received grace (Eph. 2:8).

Forgiveness is practiced because Christ forgave us (Col. 3:13). Truth is proclaimed boldly because Jesus is truth (John 14:6). We reject hypocrisy, bitterness, and empty religion, choosing instead to embody the love and truth of Jesus in our relationships.

Our aim is to create a Gospel culture where broken people encounter mercy, disciples are formed in truth, and Christ is glorified in every interaction.

Core Doctrine & Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible is God’s inspired, authoritative, and sufficient Word (2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:21). It is the final authority for faith and life.

  • We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man (John 1:1,14). His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, and bodily resurrection provide salvation to all who believe (1 Cor. 15:3–4; Rom. 10:9–10).

  • We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19).

  • We believe the Holy Spirit comes into every true believer at salvation, empowering them for godly, just, and righteous living and ministry for Jesus Christ. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22–23).

  • We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ, expressed locally through gatherings of believers devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42–47). The church exists to worship God, build up believers, and reach the lost.

  • We believe salvation is by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8–9). It involves repentance, forgiveness of sins, and new life in Christ (Acts 3:19; 2 Cor. 5:17).

  • We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life with Him for believers (1 Thess. 4:16–17; Rev. 21:1–4).

Core Commands (Ordinances)

  • By immersion, as a public declaration of faith and new life in Christ (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4).

  • Regularly remembering (not reliving or repeating) Christ’s willing sacrifice through communion (breaking bread, eating, and gathering for His sake) (Luke 22:19; 1 Cor. 11:23–26).

  • With all our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37).

  • With sacrificial compassion, forgiveness, and service (Matthew 22:39; John 13:34–35).

  • Teaching others to obey all that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:20).

  • Living in continual dependence on God (Luke 18:1; Matthew 6:9–13).

  • Intentionally turning from sin (as identified through scripture) and walking in obedience (John 14:15; Matthew 5:48).

  • Proclaiming the Gospel and living as salt and light (Acts 1:8; Matthew 5:14–16).

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, the literal Son of God, lived the perfect life we could not live, died the death we deserved for sin, and rose again in victory over death. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and new life by grace through faith.

The Gospel is not just a message to believe but a life to be lived. Jesus calls us to repent, to follow Him as Lord, and to walk as disciples who love God, love others, and carry His Kingdom into every part of life.

At The Way, the Gospel is our foundation, our message, and our mission: Jesus is Lord, His Kingdom has come, and His Way is life.
